Bapestar Shoes

I'm probably never going to wear these shoes to be honest, but it's very hard for me to pass up a chance at owning my first pair of Bapes. I picked these up in a impromptu online auction that no one really seemed to interested in sniping me off my bids.

Bape is a Japanese clothing company that is well known for being somewhat counter-culture but at the same time divising it's own cult following. I don't think I'll ever own a Bape jacket, those who have read my old blog will know my hatred for the now over-worn all over patterened hoodies that has infested Salvo shops around the country, but the shoes are a different matter.

I think their shoes are still relatively unknown compared to the shirts and jackets, and only really noticed by the people who know what they are. These are some mighty clean white versions and I'm rather chuffed with my bargain purchase.

Street Fighter IV

Street Fighter IV

It's been a long time since I stepped into a video arcade. It seems so long ago that I'd spend almost 4-5 hours everyday with my face in front of a video screen inside the drug-riddled arcades on Russell St. I was so into Arcading that I'd forfeit about $50 daily on the machines and sometimes have no money purchase a train ticket home. All to often I'd jump the railing at Parliament station so that I could squeeze $2 more for one more game.

I became pretty good at the games I specialised in... but I never really played Street Fighter all that much. I could clock Street Fighter vs X-Men pretty easy and even tried learning combos for the Alpha series, but it was never my thing. Street Fighter 4 is the latest offering by Capcom for the franchise and is such a throwback to the original Street Fighters with a modern twist.

Ryu unleashing an Super Hadoken

It's bloody impressive and the graphics are intense for a 3D Side Scrolling fighter. A friend of mine who is quite specalisied in it had a 7-2 streak while I watched. I wish I were that good.

Harajuku Lovers - Love

I think you'll find it hard for anyone to argue that buying for friends is a tough process... buying for a girl is even harder! Without putting careful planning into what you think they may like the gift can feel like it's worthless and forgotten. Harajuku Lovers is the fashion apparel label by pop singer Gwen Stefani and is marketed more towards a niche demographic with some very funky and cute visual appeal. It has some what of a cult following as each of the 5 fragrances released have a doll that goes with it and people go out of their way to collect them. I didn't smell it before I got it, but thankfully it is an amazing scent and it made me smile to see the recipient very very happy with it's kaiwaiiness.
