Drinking Wine

Blue Pyrenees Shiraz

I don't care if you'll admit it or not, but there's a sense of sophistication when you have a glass of red on your table. I am not traditionally a wine drinker. In fact it's taken me a long time to warm to the idea of a drop of red. White? No problem, but Red never quite sat right when I drank it. This was until Suresh introduced me to a drop he really enjoyed. I think it was Church Block, but unable to find this, I posted on Facebook asking for suggestions for a good wine.

An old high-school friend, who coincidentally runs a Wine Blog over at Primary Aromas, was very forthcoming with the suggestion of the above Blue Pyrenees Shiraz. It's pretty much exactly what I was looking for, easy to drink and not at all as harsh as some I've tested over the last few weeks.

Oh, and that sophistication? Yep, it kinda loses some points as I sip the wine while blasting at Tanks in Bad Company 2.

F1 GP

Sebastian Vettel leading in Melbourne

Who said Formula 1 was boring?!

I was lucky enough to score some tickets and coming straight from work managed to see most of the race. There were heaps of telling moments in the race, such as Jensons decision to change tyres, and the reverse for Hamilton, as well as the offs and overtakes. I think F1 is so much more exciting when you understand the dynamics... a lot like listening to my dad explain the Tour De France.

Too bad to Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel. I think Mark just tried too hard at the end.

Bonus! No ear damage either :)

50th Annual Thai Festival

Melbourne Thai Festival

I'm guilty of never doing the early 20 trip to Thailand like most of my friends, so until I do I'll have to put up with what I can get in Melbourne. With that I headed to Federation Square today to partake in the activities at the 50th Annual Thai Festival. It was packed beyond belief! I was confident there would be enough room to move around but it was shoulder to shoulder.

The food was easily the highlight and before running around the 20 odd food stalls we settled on a Gai Pad Krapow which was surprisingly filling albeit very spicy. To further add to the experience I had my first Red Bull in about a year. It must of had some affect as my escort started falling asleep later in the day I was still bustling with energy.

I also tried this Coconut Ice Jelly thing which was served in a real life genuine coconut. It wasn't very nice so it promptly found it's way to the dumpster about halfway through.

Was a nice day out really!
